Quick start checklist
The steps to go from a new store to your first order.
A new store starts almost empty, so the chatbot only shows your store information until you add more. Your dashboard shows a Get your store ready checklist; this page walks through the same steps in order, with what to fill in at each one. Most stores are ready in 20–30 minutes.
1. Fill in your store profile
Open Settings → Store Profile. This is what customers see on your “About” card in the chat and on receipts.
- Logo — a square image works best.
- Contact number and Contact type (phone, WhatsApp or Viber) — so customers can reach you.
- Address and About / description — a couple of sentences about your business.
- Greeting — the first thing customers read when they open your chat menu, e.g. “Hi! Welcome to Bright Shop — what can we do for you today?”
- Check that Currency, Language and Timezone are right.
Press Save. All profile fields explained
2. Switch on your features
Open Settings → Features and turn on only what your business does. Some common setups:
| Business | Switch on |
|---|---|
| Online shop / boutique | Products, Orders |
| Salon, clinic, studio | Services, Appointments |
| Restaurant or café | Menu, Orders, Table reservations |
| Bakery taking pre-orders | Products or Menu, Orders |
Press Save. New pages appear in your dashboard menu. More about features
3. Add what you sell
Start with a few of your best sellers — you can add the rest later.
- Products — name, price, photo and stock.
- Services — name, price and how long it takes.
- Menu — create categories first (Mains, Drinks…), then add dishes.
Good photos and a clear first line of description make a big difference in the chat.
4. Set your hours (bookings only)
If you take appointments or table reservations, open Bookings → Hours & holidays, choose your slot length and add your opening hours. Without hours, customers see no free times. Add your days off and holidays on the Holidays tab. Bookings in detail
5. Decide how you get paid and where you deliver
- Payments — turn cash on delivery on or off.
- Delivery areas (Premium) — tick the areas you deliver to and set a fee for each.
- Coupons (Premium) — optional, for a launch offer such as WELCOME10.
6. Connect your chat
Open Instagram in the menu and press Connect with Instagram, then do the same for Messenger if you use a Facebook Page. Your Instagram must be a professional account. Step-by-step connection guide
7. Test it like a customer
- Press Preview customer chat on your dashboard to see the bot in a simulator.
- Then send your Instagram account a message from a different (personal) account.
- Place a test order or booking and check it appears in your dashboard.
- Cancel the test order afterwards so it doesn’t count in your sales.
8. Tell your customers
Copy your shop or booking link from the panel on your dashboard (on a wide screen) or print its QR code for your counter, packaging or flyers. Add the link to your Instagram bio and pin a post saying customers can now order and book by DM.
